June 30, 1997 Now
the wildflowers are really starting to take off. A hummingbird has been
visiting the Monarda every evening about 15 minutes before sunset.

June 11, 1997 Here
are 2 grasses and the first Purple Coneflower bloom of the year. The Dropseed
was purchased as plants last year. The Bluestem I grew from seed and
transplanted last fall. All the transplants lived and seem to be doing well.

June 15 These
pictures were taken over the last couple of days. I planted the Eastern Wahoo
in the back last year, the Blue-eyed Grass planted itself under the River Birch
in front, and the Shumard Oak I planted in back this spring. The picture of the
Shumard does not capture how bright red the new shoots are.
